MILLCREEK, UTAH – August 22, 2015 – Gephardt Daily
SWAT teams from the Unified Police Department are on the scene of a barricaded hostage situation near 725 East 3300 South.
According to Salt Lake County Sheriff Jim Winder, it started Saturday morning with officers from UPD responding to reports of gunshots.
When first responders arrived they found a woman lying wounded in front yard of a home.
She was rushed to IMC in Murray, in serious, but stable, condition.
Winder said the woman was a family friend who was shot while intervening in an argument between a husband and wife inside the residence.
The husband is now holding his wife inside the home against her will.
Police negotiators are talking to the husband.
