[/one_fourth][three_fourth_last]Sgt. Brandon Buell of the Hurricane Police Department said that the girl reported a  male suspect brandished a firearm and tried to force her into his vehicle at approximately 8 a.m.  just outside of the high school. The girl chose not to comply and ran into the school, where she reported the incident to the vice principal, who then called police.

The lockout was lifted at 11 a.m., Sgt. Buell told Gephardt Daily, emphasizing that there was never  a “lockdown,” merely a “lockout,” meaning kids were able to go to class and everything was normal in the building but but the outside where locked so no one could get inside.

The suspect is as being in his late 30’s to early 40’s, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10, approximately 180-to-220 pounds and with a brown beard. The suspect was wearing a black beanie-style cap, plaid jacket and dark-colored jeans.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Hurricane police at 435-627-4999.
