CLEVELAND, April 28 (UPI) — Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin said Tuesday that Kevin Love will likely not return for the 2015 postseason after sustaining a shoulder injury.

Love dislocated his shoulder when Celtics center Kelly Olynyk tugged on his arm during Game 4 of the first-round series. The tug earned Olynyk a one-game suspension.

“I want to make it clear that’s highly unlikely,” Griffin said of Love’s return. “The damage to his shoulder is extensive. This is not a situation where we’re expecting he will be available for any of this, and we’re in the process of gathering information in terms of what the exact, right, next steps are, and every option is on the table.”

Love’s labrum reportedly separated from the bone, giving a minimum healing time of four to six weeks. If the shoulder does not heal, surgery is an option.

The expected elimination of Love from the playoffs greatly slims the chances for the Cavs to take home the title.

Fellow Cavs player Lebron James said while the news is “difficult to digest,” the team is “a confident bunch. We have guys who can step up. No excuses.”
