Micah Potter returns for 3rd season with Utah Jazz on two-way contract

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 6, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Micah Potter is returning to the Utah Jazz on a two-way contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Potter, a 6-foot-10, 248-pound forward, has spent the past two seasons as a two-way player with Utah, primarily playing for the Salt Lake City Stars, the Jazz’s G League affiliate.

Potter, 26, has played in 23 games for the Jazz over the past two seasons, averaging 3.3 points and 2.6 rebounds in 10.3 minutes per game, while shooting 52.7% overall and 46.4% from 3-point range.

The Mentor, Ohio, native has appeared in 45 regular-season games for the Stars, making 41 starts and averaging 15.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 blocks in 29.6 minutes per game, while shooting 51.6% overall and 38.4% from 3-point range.

In June, Potter was selected to be a member of the 2024 USA Basketball Men’s Select Team, which trained with the USA Basketball Men’s National Team as it prepared for the Paris Olympics.

The four-year collegian at Wisconsin (2019-21) and Ohio State (2016-18) went undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft but played for the Detroit Pistons on a 10-day contract in 2021-22. He spent the majority of his rookie season with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the G League affiliate of the Miami Heat.

In two seasons at Wisconsin, Potter averaged 11.6 points and 6.1 rebounds in 20.3 minutes per game.
