June 3, 2015 (The Sports Network) — The New Jersey Devils are set to announce John Hynes as their next coach at a press conference on Tuesday.

According to The Record, New Jersey has an agreement in place with Hynes but have to settle on draft-pick compensation with the Penguins, whose AHL team is coached by Hynes.

The 40-year-old has coached the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins since 2010, when he was promoted to the position by now Devils general manager Ray Shero, who previously held the same position with Pittsburgh.

New Jersey fired coach Pete DeBoer, since hired by San Jose, on Dec. 26 and went the rest of the season with co-coaches Scott Stevens and Adam Oates behind the bench along with team president Lou Lamoriello.
