MIDVALE, Utah, March 17, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are looking for two suspects in a shooting Sunday night near the Chelsea Park Apartments.

Unified Police Sgt. Melody Gray said a call was received just before 10 p.m., reporting shots fired at 7351 Catalpa St.

“What we’ve been able to determine so far,” Gray said, “is that there was a group of males, ages 18 to 20, and for some reason they became engaged in an altercation. At some point, someone pulled out a gun and began firing.”

Two 18-year-old men were hit and were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to their extremities.

Gray said police are searching for two suspects.

One suspect is described as a black male, about 18 to 20 years old, with dreadlocks. He was wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

The second suspect is a Caucasian male, 18 to 20 years old, wearing a hoodie.

Gray said K-9 officers are working to locate the suspects, and others are gathering evidence from the scene.

“We don’t know if it’s gang-related. We’ll be talking to the victims,” Gray said.

She added that police are also talking with witnesses, and the witnesses are being cooperative.
