LAYTON, Utah, Oct. 23, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A man wanted on several warrants and most recently as a suspect in an aggravated robbery was arrested late Monday, the Layton Police Department tweeted.

Samuel Reed, 28, was “peacefully taken into custody in a car in downtown SLC,” the LPD said. Reed has been booked into Davis County Jail.

According to an earlier LPD news release, Reed was wanted for an aggravated robbery that took place Sunday on Fairfield Road and for possession of a weapon by a restricted person. He is also a fugitive from several jurisdictions and the U.S. Marshal’s Service, the police said. They cautioned the public that Reed was considered armed and dangerous.

The victim in the Sunday robbery, a 25-year-old woman, told police that Reed, her ex-boyfriend, displayed a handgun during an argument and took the keys to her vehicle.

Reed and Keisha Majoris, 26, took the vehicle and left the area, with Majoris driving because Reed cannot drive a manual transmission vehicle, according to the release.

When Reed and Majoris later returned after agreeing to give back certain items from the vehicle, there was another argument and the victim chased Majoris.

At that point, police say, Reed again displayed a handgun, and he and Majoris again drove off in the stolen vehicle.

Later Sunday, Ogden Police located Majoris and the stolen vehicle, as well as the victim’s identification and financial cards.

Majoris was interviewed and booked into Davis County Jail for aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony; eight counts of unlawful acquisition of a financial transaction card, third-degree felonies; and possession of multiple identifying documents of another, a third-degree felony.
