SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 13, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The body of Erin Valenti, CEO of Tinker Ventures, a Utah-based tech company, who went missing Monday night while on a California business trip, has been found in San Jose.

The 33-year-old woman was expected to return home to Utah late Monday and attend the Women Tech Awards on Wednesday evening where she was to receive an award for Entrepreneurial Excellence.

Late Saturday, her family issued a statement, calling off the search for Valenti and saying her body had been found in a vehicle in Almaden, a residential neighborhood in San Jose, California.

The news was confirmed in a post on the Help Find Erin Valenti Facebook page.

“Many of you have seen that the search for Erin has been called off, the post said. “While we were praying for a different outcome, we are so appreciative for the help and support you have given. Please remember Erin as the beautiful, smart, funny woman that she was.”

Valenti went missing Monday night after a series of disturbing phone calls to family members. They told the San Jose Mercury News Valenti appeared to be suffering some sort of mental breakdown, saying, “It’s all a game. It’s a thought experiment. We’re in the Matrix.”

Family members said Valenti had no known mental issues.

Police investigators determined she had not used her phone or credit cards since Monday.

Gephardt Daily will update this story as more information is made available.
