5 Dead, 3 Injured In Backyard Shooting Near Pittsburgh

WILKINSBURG, Pa., March 10, 2016 (UPI) — Five night people are dead and three hospitalized Thursday after at least two gunman opened fire during a backyard cookout in an eastern suburb of Pittsburgh.

Allegheny County Police said evidence suggests two people fired shots from two weapons. One was fired from an alley in the back of 1304 Franklin Ave. and the other from the side or backyard of an adjacent home sometime before 10:50 p.m. Wednesday.

The four people — three women and one man — who died at the scene were on the back porch of the home. Another woman died at the hospital.

Two men were in critical condition and a woman was in stable condition, police said.

Police said no one is in custody and a motive is not clear. Investigators did make it clear that the public is not in any immediate danger.
