SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, July 12, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The FBI is looking for a 31-year-old man in connection with the June 30 disappearance of a 14-year-old Ogden girl and her two young cousins.

Elizabeth Gonzalez was visiting family in Mexico City, Mexico, when she disappeared along with her cousins — Sofia Mailen Moreno Zamora, 6, and Regina Moreno Zamora, 4, who are Mexican citizens.

The FBI says Elizabeth’s uncle and the younger girls’ father, Antonio Moreno, had been living in Kaysville for the past three years but abruptly traveled to Mexico City and allegedly took the three girls without their mothers’ permission.

“Relatives have not seen or heard from them since. We believe the girls are in danger and still in Mexico,” the FBI said in a news release Friday.

Surveillance video obtained by the FBI shows Elizabeth and her two young cousins getting into a taxi on June 30.

“The FBI believes Elizabeth was manipulated by an adult male, allegedly Moreno, to get into that taxi. We believe all four are traveling together,” the release says.

Anyone with information about Moreno’s or the girls’ whereabouts is asked to call the FBI Salt Lake City Division at 801-579-1400. Tips can also be submitted online at tips.fbi.gov.
