NEW YORK CITY, New York, Sept. 11, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A YouTube video showing Hillary Clinton as she abruptly left the 9-11 memorial ceremony in New York City Sunday morning is fueling ongoing speculation about her health.
Clinton had spent about 90 minutes at the ceremony when she and her entourage suddenly left without explanation.
Thirty minutes later the Clinton campaign revealed the Democratic nominee had retreated to Chelsea Clinton’s nearby apartment.
According to a statement released by campaign spokesman Nick Merrill, “Secretary Clinton attended the September 11th Commemoration Ceremony for just one hour and 30 minutes this morning to pay her respects and greet some of the families of the fallen. During the ceremony, she felt overheated so she departed to go to her daughter’s apartment, and is feeling much better.”
About an hour later, Clinton emerged from her daughter’s apartment appearing none the worse for wear. She stopped momentarily to have a picture taken with a young fan. When asked how she was feeling by a group of nearby reporters she responded, “I’m feeling great. It’s a beautiful day.”
The question was repeated a moment later, when she was asked point blank if she was feeling better. She responded by thanking the questioner and saying she was “feeling much better.”
A series of videos taken as Clinton was leaving the 9-11 memorial shows her appear to stumble, if not faint, outright, as she and handlers made their way to a waiting SUV.
Later Sunday, her doctor said she has pneumonia, which was diagnosed Friday.
The video come on the heels of a summer long series of allegations by the Trump campaign questioning Clinton’s health and stamina.
Clinton ultimately returned to her home in Chappaqua, New York. She’s expected to be back on the campaign trail again later this week.
