SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 4, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Kanye West is scheduled to perform his “Sunday Service” concert at noon Saturday at The Gateway Plaza.

The Gateway announced on its Facebook page that the event, featuring The Sunday Service Collective, is free and open to the public.

West’s “Sunday Service” concert is scheduled on the first day of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints General Conference and could make for a very crowded scene in the downtown area Saturday.

Mayor Jackie Biskupski tweeted Friday evening that “Downtown SLC is going to be busy tomorrow morning & afternoon with General Conference, the March to End Child Abuse (City Hall to Capitol), and a potentially large event at the Gateway.”

She urged people to use public transportation and avoid areas around these events.

West launched the church-style “Sunday Service” in January at his home in California and has held the event weekly at various venues, including Detroit, Chicago, New York, and Wyoming. It features traditional gospel music, pop hits with a gospel flavor, and West’s own music in gospel style.
