HERRIMAN, Utah, Oct. 28, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified and plan to arrest a man who was ejected from a stolen truck after a collision Saturday morning in Herriman.

The suspect, 24-year-old Allen Shane Carmickle, is in critical condition in the hospital after the accident, but will be charged with receiving/transfer of a stolen vehicle and running a red light, according to a tweet from the Unified Police Department.

The call came in at about 9 a.m. of the crash, at the intersection of Mountain View Corridor and Rosecrest Road.

“There was a white truck and a green truck, and the green truck — according to witnesses — ran a red light,” Lt. Brian Lohrke told Gephardt Daily prior to the charges being announced. “It impacted the white truck, and the green truck flipped and rolled about 200 feet.”

The green truck was reported stolen out of South Salt Lake on Friday, Lohrke said.

“The driver of the green truck did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt, and was ejected,” Lohrke said. “He was transported in critical condition. A passenger in the green truck, a female, was wearing a seatbelt, and she is in good condition.”

The driver of the white truck was uninjured, Lohrke said.

Police have yet to conclude their investigation.

Gephardt Daily will update the story as more information becomes available.
