WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah Aug. 27, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A car vs. train crash disrupted service Tuesday evening, sending a motorist to the hospital.
A TRAX Green line train was hit by a vehicle that ran a red light in the area of Redwood Road and Research Way just after 6:30 p.m., Utah Transit Authority spokesman Gavin Gustafson said.
The incident knocked a coupler off the train, but injured no on onboard, he said, while the car driver had to be extricated from his vehicle.
The driver was taken by ambulance to a hospital with a head injury, Gustafson said.
System wide delays were expected on the Green, Blue and Red lines, with a bus bridge in effect.
