NEWPORT NEWS, Va., July 20 (UPI) — The U.S. Navy has given Newport News Shipbuilding a $106 million contract to provide engineering and industrial support for submarines.

Special mission submersibles, submarine support facilities and related programs are also covered by the contract, which is under immediate effect.

Work under the contract will include engineering, design, configuration management, integrated logistic support, database management, research and development, modernization and industrial support.
