NEW YORK, Aug. 2 (UPI) — Nine people were shot at a house party in New York City early Sunday; the motive of the attack remains unclear.
The shooting took place at a two-story Brooklyn home near the intersection of Stanley Avenue and Crescent Street.
All victims survived the shooting at the party in the backyard of a two-story Brooklyn home. Gunshots were reported at about 2:15 a.m. Most victims were struck in the leg.
The most serious injuries are those of a woman, 19, who was shot in the neck and leg, and of a man, 24, who was shot in the neck, according to The New York Times.
Police have launched an investigation into apprehending the suspects. Information is limited, as the number of gunmen and the number of shots fired are not yet confirmed.
The suspects are reportedly young men who have a history of arrests on gun charges, with some who have previously been shot themselves.
