WEST JORDAN, Utah, June 16, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A motorcyclist died in the early hours of Sunday morning when he crashed his bike into the side of a passenger car on 7800 South.

West Jordan Police Officer Jennifer Worthen said the adult male motorcycle driver was westbound on 7800 South, reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed.

The motorcycle collided with the passenger side of a car that was turning in to an apartment complex at 2036 West.

“The motorcycle driver impacted the vehicle and was unconscious, not breathing or alert,” Worthen told Gephardt Daily. “He was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in delta-minus condition and passed away.”

She added that the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.

Worthen said the female driver of the car, believed to be the vehicle’s only occupant, was not seriously injured and was detained at the scene while the collision was being investigated.

The Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team was called in to assist in the investigation.

Gephardt Daily will update this story as more information is made available.
