OGDEN, Utah, April 12, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — An Ogden man is facing 20 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after a Dropbox account in his name was found to contain numerous files depicting child pornography.

Jeffery Sanford, 40, was booked into Weber County Jail on Wednesday after members of the FBI child exploitation task force executed a search warrant at his home.

According to a probable cause statement filed in 2nd District Court in Ogden, the Utah Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children division received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reporting images and videos that had been uploaded to Sanford’s Dropbox account.

The 93 files depicted “what appeared to be young teenage males,” completely nude, exposing their genitals to a camera, the probable cause statement said. There also were numerous video files showing prepubescent boys being raped by adult males.

The officer who filed the probable cause statement wrote that “Jeffery had thousands of images and videos of child pornography in his account.”

Sanford admitted to viewing the child pornography and “stated that he has been addicted to child pornography for several years…” the probable cause statement said.

Sanford was charged with 20 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.

He is being held on a $200,000 bond.
