Ogden police seek help identifying suspect in fatal shooting

OGDEN, Utah, Dec. 7, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The Ogden Police Department is asking for the public’s help in gathering information about a Nov. 27 shooting that left one man in critical condition, shot in the head.

The OPD revealed Thursday on its Facebook page that the victim died three days later at a local hospital. The man’s identity also was released Thursday in the statement. He was Brian Housley, 28.

The OPD statement says that at 2:37 a.m. on Nov 27, the shooting took place in the 900 block of 16th Street. A vehicle believed to hold the shooter was seen leaving at a high rate of speed.

Police have said they have no reason to believe Housley was involved with a gang.

Multiple interviews have been held, but no information has led to the identity of the shooter.

Anyone who witnessed the event or has any information is asked to make contact with detectives, who can be reached through detectives@ogdencity.com or by calling 801-629-8221.
