WEST JORDAN, Utah, Nov. 6, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Firefighters were called to the scene of a residential fire Tuesday in West Jordan.

“We got a call from a passerby that saw smoke coming from the home,” said Steve Holmes, West Valley City Fire Department battalion chief. “We arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the home.”

Firefighters arrived at about 12:13 p.m. to the scene, at 7199 S. 1250 West.

“We had units from Murray and Unified Fire as well as West Jordan,” Holmes said. “The occupants were not home, but we were able to get ahold of them. The house is not habitable right now, but they have made arrangements” for another place to stay, he said.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, and no damage estimate is available. The investigation is ongoing.
