PAYSON, Utah, March 1, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A Payson man was booked into jail Wednesday after police say he admitted to abusing three minor females.

Brandon Jerry Bradford, 39, faces three counts of child sexual abuse by a person in a position of trust.

A 14-year-old girl called Payson police on Tuesday and said that Bradford had been abusing her and a 12-year-old girl, and might be doing the same to a 10-year-old girl, according to a probable cause statement.

The girls were brought to the police station, and further interviews were arranged with the Child Justice Center. All three girls disclosed that Bradford had been touching them, on multiple occasions, behind locked doors.

Bradford initially denied the contact, the probable cause statement says, but later stated “… that he had been sexually abused as a child and that’s why he was doing this. The defendant stated that he had let his thoughts wander and his emotions get the better of him.”

The 14-year-old girl told investigators the fondling had been going on so long “… that she believed it was normal behavior until she attended a school health class that described sexual abuse, she then recognized that this was not right.”
