MURRAY, Utah, Feb. 5, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Emergency personnel responded to the scene of a fatal fall shortly before 9 p.m. Monday at Wagstaff Crane, 4343 S. Commerce Drive (300 West).

Murray City Police Sgt. Marvin Barlow said three people were climbing on top of a building at that location, when one of them fell through the roof. He said the one who fell and is deceased was male.

Barlow didn’t have the ages of the individuals, and said police were still in the process of notifying next of kin; however, officials reported earlier that the three people on the roof were teens.

Questioned as to whether the three had permission to be on the roof, Barlow replied, “To my knowledge, the property is fenced in.”

He described the incident as “heart-breaking” and said, “We don’t have a lot to offer. We’re just in the beginning phases of the investigation… We’ll be out here until we feel we have everything we need from the scene. It could be several hours.”

Gephardt Daily will update this developing story as more information becomes available.
