Police make arrest in Ogden stabbing; charges include kidnapping

OGDEN, Utah, April 29, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have arrested a suspect in an early Sunday morning stabbing near 3200 Lincoln Ave.

Diego Castro, 27, was arrested and booked into Weber County Jail in relation to the aggravated assault, Ogden Police Department stated in a Facebook post.

“During the altercation, the suspect stabbed victim multiple times with an unknown object,” OPD had tweeted earlier on Sunday.

The victim was transported and treated at local hospital and is in stable condition.

In the course of the investigation, police said, it was learned that “Castro held three witnesses at knife-point threatening them with bodily harm.”

The witnesses were able to escape, and Castro fled. He was later taken into custody at his home in the 3800 block of Ogden Avenue, the Facebook post says.

Castro was booked on charges of:

  • Aggravated kidnapping
  • Aggravated burglary
  • Multiple counts of aggravated assault
  • Obstruction of justice
