MILLCREEK, Utah, Dec. 14, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Police officials have released the name of a man found deceased Wednesday in a Millcreek park.

The deceased has been identified as 72-year-old Devin O’Donnell, of Holladay.

“Cause of death is still unknown, but not of a suspicious nature,” a UPD tweet says.

O’Donnell was found Wednesday morning just off a parking lot in Big Cottonwood Regional Park.

Unified Police Department Sgt. Melody Gray told Gephardt Daily on Wednesday that a man was walking his dog at approximately 7:30 a.m. in the park at 4720 S. 1590 East, when his pet alerted him to something in a thicket of trees.

The dog walker then found a man who was naked and obviously deceased.

Later on Wednesday, the UPD released a photo of a distinctive ring the man was wearing, and, in a highly unusual step, also released a photo of the deceased man’s face, in the hopes that someone would recognize him.

On Thursday afternoon, a UPD tweet said the man had been identified, and his name would be released pending notification of next of kin. O’Donnell’s name was released just after 2 p.m. on Friday.
