Salt Lake County Prosecutor Dies After Jumping From Parking Tower

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 10, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) A prosecutor with the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office has died after jumping from a parking tower in downtown Salt Lake City, police said.

Salt Lake City Police Department Detective Greg Wilking said the victim was Chad Platt, and his death occurred at about 5:30 a.m. Monday.

Wilking said Platt’s body was found either in the street or in an alleyway at 81 E. 300 South (Broadway), below a parking tower. The District Attorney’s Office is at 111 E. 300 South, Suite 400.

According to LinkedIn, Platt studied at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, and is originally from Tuscon, Arizona.

Gephardt Daily does not report on suicides unless there is an impact to the public, such as in this case.
