Lucas Deprey has been taken into custody and formally charged, according to information released by the Murray City Police Department on Twitter.

The MCPD also released the name of the man killed in the shooting. He was Ever Hernandez, 33.

The incident began at about 5:30 p.m. in front of Check City, at 98 E. 4500 South when a male approached the car Hernandez was in and and shot him in the head.

As the shooter ran away, the car accelerated and sped onto State Street, causing a rush-hour accident that involved five additional vehicles. No one in those vehicles was seriously injured, police told Gephardt Daily at the scene.

  1. Are you kidding me? Its 5:30 in the afternoon. You’re sitting in your car thinking about nothing really just happy to he alive and this 19 yr old piece of garbage walks up and shoots you dead What the hell is wrong with people? Where are the parents? He gave no mercy, he should not receive any. Life in prison or death. I’m sure Mr Hernandez would have loved to drive out of that parking lot and go home to his life. Animals like DePrey have no place in society.
