MILLCREEK, Utah, Sept. 15, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The Unified Police Department has released the name of the man killed Saturday night in an auto-pedestrian accident in Millcreek.

The victim is William Love, 68, of Millcreek.

“Our deepest condolences to his family and friends,” a UPD post says.

Police and emergency medical responders were dispatched to the area of 3900 South and 1000 East at about 9:25 p.m.

Lt. Wayne Dial, UPD division commander, told Gephardt Daily that a man was struck by a westbound vehicle and died at the scene.

“The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk,” Dial said. “He was probably 80 to 100 yards east of 900 East. It’s a dark area, and the pedestrian was struck in the roadway.”

Dial said the vehicle appears to be a Honda Pilot, and it sustained “significant damage.”

The incident is still under investigation, but Dial said there is no immediate indication that impairment was a factor.
