UTAH COUNTY, Utah, Aug. 20, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team is responding to a report of a 21-year-old hiker on Mount Timpanogos.

UCSO Sgt. Spencer Cannon tweeted that the hiker is sick and may be stranded at the summit.

Cannon told Gephardt Daily that the team is heading up with medical equipment, and they are hoping the Department of Public Safety helicopter will be able to assist with locating and bringing the hiker off the mountain.

“The problem is the darkness,” Cannon said. “If the helicopter can get up there, they may be able to get it over within an hour. Otherwise, we’ll probably be up there all night.”

Gephardt Daily will update this developing story as more information becomes available.
