Utah County SAR brings Provo man off mountain after paragliding crash

UTAH COUNTY, Utah, June 4, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A 57-year-old man was rescued from the steep mountainside near the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon after crashing his paraglider Tuesday night.

UCSO Search and Rescue crews responded to the scene and were able to hoist the man from his precarious position by helicopter.

The Provo man was experiencing some back pain, but never lost consciousness, according to a tweet from Spencer Cannon, spokesman for Utah County Sheriff’s Office.

He was transported by Spanish Fork ambulance to Utah Valley Hospital.
