AMERICAN FORK, Utah, May 3, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman trying to cross the street in front of American Fork Hospital died Wednesday night after being hit by one car, then another.

Sgt. Josh Christensen, American Fork Police Department, said the fatal incident happened sometime after 10 p.m., when the 23-year-old woman stepped into traffic directly in front of the hospital, at 170 N. 1100 East.

Christensen said it was dark, and both drivers pulled over and stopped as soon as they realized they had hit something. They were cooperative with police, he said.

The incident is still under investigation.

Christensen said, “We’re all hurting for the woman’s family and the drivers and their families. This is a sad, difficult thing for everyone.”
