WASHINGTON, Nov. 8 (UPI) — As polls close across wide swaths of the East Coast and Midwest, the electoral map has yet to yield a surprise for either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, and no swing state has been called for either candidate in their race to become the 45th president of the United States.

With polls closing in another 14 states at 9 p.m. EST, UPI and CVoter are able to project winners in several of them. The Electoral College tally shows the two candidates running close, but Trump edging into a slight lead based on the order by which traditional red and blue states have been called.

Trump has claimed 154 votes to Clinton’s 109 and neither candidate is close to the 270 needed to win, with a quarter of the country still casting ballots.

Polls are now closed in several major battleground states where the race is too close to call. They include Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia.
