COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah, Oct. 16, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police were dispatched this week to a call reporting a person with a gun, and arrived at a residence on the 2000 east block of Brent Lane.
A woman identified as Lida Boghozian, 65, “went to her neighbor’s house and threatened him with a firearm in her pocket,” say arrest documents filed by an officer of the Cottonwood Heights Police Department.
“Neighbor removed firearm from (Boghozian’s) possession and sprayed her with the hose to get her off his property. (She) continued to threaten the victim and told him she would kill him until the end of the earth.'”
Boghozian sat in her vehicle until officers arrived, then “was non-compliant with officers refusing to get out of the vehicle,” her affidavit says. “After (she) was taken into custody she threatened to kill all Cottonwood Heights officers. (She) reported once she is released from jail she will come back and kill the victim and the police.”
Boghozian “admitted to ingesting a marijuana gummy and being under the influence of THC while possessing the firearm, making her a restricted person,” the statement says. “Firearm was taken into custody and booked into evidence. (Boghozian) was read Miranda and refused to speak with me.”
She was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of:
- Aggravated assault, a third-degree felony
- Threat of violence, a class B misdemeanor
- Carry a dangerous weapon under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a class B misdemeanor
- Interfering with a peace officer, a class B misdemeanors
- Intoxication, a class C misdemeanor
She was ordered held without bail, and remained incarcerated as of Wednesday evening.
