OGDEN, Utah, July 18, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A man has been booked into the Weber County Jail after police say he had an illegal relationship with a minor and provided her and several other youths with drugs.

Michael David Hare, 26, was jailed on charges of:

  • Distribution or arranging to distribute a controlled substance, a second-degree felony
  • Unlawful sexual contact with a 16 or 17 year old — intercourse, a third-degree felony
  • Three counts of causing or permitting a child or vulnerable adult to be exposed to a controlled substance, a third-degree felony

The charges were filed after a minor female, interviewed at the Children’s Justice Center, told officials that Hare, who was then 24, “had supplied her with methamphetamine and had sex with her on multiple occasions,” the probable cause statement says.

‘”During the investigation, two other juvenile victims were also found to be involved, and were provided drugs, including methamphetamine, by the defendant.

“The defendant later was interviewed, and admitted to sharing drugs, including marijuana and methamphetamine, with the juveniles.

“The defendant also admitted to having a sexual relationship with the 16-year-old minor female when he was 24 years old, and he knew she was 16 years old at the time. The defendant estimated they had sex about once a week during the six months they were dating.”
