HERRIMAN, UTAH – August 29, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – One man is in jail and another hospitalized in extremely critical condition after a domestic argument in Herriman overnight.

According to Unified Police, dispatchers received word of an assault at 5973 W. Moon Shadow Drive around 1 a.m.

When UPD officers arrived they found neighbors performing CPR on a man lying at the side of the road. He’d been severely beaten.

Witnesses told police the beating victim had been involved in an argument with his girlfriend earlier in the night when the altercation became physical.

The girlfriend called her brother for help. Police say the brother drove to the residence and removed his sister from the home. He then returned and confronted her boyfriend.

A fight ensued and the boyfriend was critically injured after being punched in the face several times and falling to the pavement.

Paramedics say the beating victim had no pulse when they arrived, although they were able to revive him.

He was taken by ambulance to Riverton Hospital before being flown by helicopter to Intermountain Medical Center. His identity has yet to be released.

The girlfriend’s brother, Cole Pedersen, was arrested at the scene.

He’s been booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on a second degree felony charge of aggravated assault.
