COLORADO CITY, Arizona, Nov. 28, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The mother of Lisa Vilate Williams, the 26-year-old woman who was fatally shot Sunday in Midvale, Utah, has written a touching Facebook post about her daughter and how the family would like the young woman to be remembered.

In the post, Tawny Williams says her daughter was murdered while decorating a Christmas tree with ornaments she was making with her boyfriend’s 3-year-old twins.

She refers to her “beautiful Lisa,” saying, “She was so kind, sweet, generous, loving, and brought joy and excitement to every aspect of life.”

Then the heart-broken mother asks that people share Lisa’s beauty, rather than anything about the person who is accused of killing her.

“She was magic,” the post ends, “and I want her remembered for how she lived and not for how she was killed.”

The tribute was posted Tuesday morning, and by Tuesday night more than 600 people had expressed their condolences to the grieving family.

A Gofundme account has been set up by Rebekah Williams in memory of Lisa Vilate Williams. According to the Gofundme site, the account has raised nearly $3,000 of its $15,000 goal so far. Please note: Gephardt Daily has no connection to and cannot verify the validity of any fundraising accounts.
