Police: 17-year-old wounded in Murray drive-by shooting

MURRAY, Utah, Aug. 3, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — Detectives are investigating a shooting after a 17-year-old victim was brought to Intermountain Medical Center with a gunshot wound Sunday night.

The teen was brought to the hospital at 9:30 p.m. by a couple of friends, Sgt. J. Coons, with Murray City Police Department, told Gephardt Daily.

“He was brought in with a gunshot wound to his leg or hip area, and is expected to be OK,” Coons said.

The victim’s friends told police they were walking near 4800 S. State St. when a white passenger car drove by and someone shot at them.

Police were still working late Sunday night to gather more information and possibly identify a suspect or suspects.
