Scammers can always bet someone out there will fall for their ploy because people like getting things for free but just like many scams before it, nothing free is headed their way.
A new scam is hitting the social media application, Snapchat. The App allows users to send and receive pictures.
The scam works like this; a user will receive a “snap” from someone they don’t know, exclaiming that you’re the days winner. The message will instruct you to visit a website that will give you a list of Apps to download which will allow you to claim your prize. Just ignore it! Downloading these APPS opens you up to all sorts of phone viruses.
The BBB recommends changing your settings to only allowing “snaps” from users you know.
