CHARLESTON, W.Va., May 19 (UPI) — A weatherman at a West Virginia news station was surprised by a large image of a spider on his weather map.

Video shows WOWK 13’s Bryan Hughes conducting the weather report before being startled by the image of the spider after the screen transitioned from a map to live feed of a local storm.

Hughes quickly laughs off the scare, but admits it almost caused an undesirable reaction.

“Why did that just happen? I nearly lost my lunch,” he said.

The video was also shared to WOWK 13’s Facebook page, where it was explained that Hughes was distracted discussing the Texas Tech University Meat Science team before noticing the spider on the screen.
