Surfer Stalked by Great White Shark at Sydney Beach in Viral Video

SYDNEY, June 25 (UPI) — A surfer in Australia captured GoPro camera footage of a great white shark circling him as he urgently paddled his board toward shallow waters.

The video, posted to YouTube by user The Most Extreme, features the surfer’s point of view as he paddles toward the shore at Manly Beach in Sydney.

The description of the video says the man noticed the shark circling him a few minutes before he started recording with his GoPro. The predator appears a couple of times through murky waters as the surfer keeps tabs on his stalker while fleeing.

“As you can see in the video the surfer tries to make his way around the shark back to more shallow water before it disappears,” the description reads. “The best thing he did was to remain calm while he was watching the [shark’s] movements in case it would attack him.”
