Video Shows Out of Control Indy Car Hit Pit Crew Member
NEW ORLEANS, April 14 (UPI) — An IndyCar pit crew member shared video from a Louisiana race where he was struck by an out-of-control car.
Todd Phillips, a pit crew member for Dale Coyne Racing, was struck by Francesco Dracone’s vehicle during Sunday’s IndyCar Grand Prix, which was marked by a series of crashes stemming from wet conditionsat NOLA Motorsports Park.
The video Phillips shared on Facebook shows him get hit in the leg and flip over Dracone’s rear tire.
Phillips said his injuries were minor.
“I can’t tell you how lucky I am to walk away with only 6 stitches!” he wrote on Facebook.
