OTTAWA, April 7 (UPI) — A pair of Dachshunds played a game of driveway hockey while representing popular Canadian hockey teams.
Facebook page Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund shared video of the dog and a fellow Dachshund named Oakley playing a game while fitted with custom outfits, including tiny arms and hockey sticks.
“Oakley and I playing a bit of our national pastime!” Crusoe’s Facebook page wrote.
The two weiner dogs can be seen wearing custom-made Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leaf jerseys while carrying their own sticks as they attempt to send a tennis ball into a miniature goal.
Crusoe’s owner explained that the outfits were intended for a stuffed animal, but repurposed to allow the two dogs to show of their hockey skills.
“They’re teddy bear outfits modified to have arms and with ministicks attached,” they wrote in the comments.
The dogs show a questionable understanding of hockey rules by repeatedly carrying the ball in their mouth, but video shows that at least one goal was scored.
