Florida man busted with 15 bottles of motor oil in pants

June 8 (UPI) — A Florida man drew the attention of a sheriff’s detective when, deputies say, he stuffed 15 bottles of motor oil and 30 DVDs into his pants at a store.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said Detective Phil Ryan parked outside a 7-Eleven store in Lakeland last week and noticed a man walk out of the store with significantly more bulk inside his pants than when he went outside. Ryan then confronted the man.

Ryan found William Jason Hall, 38 with 15 quart-sized bottles of Pennzoil motor oil and 30 used “Treasure Hunt” DVDs in his pants, the sheriff’s office said.

Hall was arrested on a charge of petit theft, which was upgraded to a felony due to it being his third arrest on the charge.

“Mr. Hall, the next time you need some motor oil and last-minute gifts, please pay for them. That guy in the car outside might just be a plainclothes detective,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.
