BADEN, Pa., Jan. 29 (UPI) — Pennsylvania police said a theft suspect accused of hitting an officer with a stolen pickup truck was arrested in a T-shirt hailing his “bad decisions.”

Michael Emrick, 36, was arrested Tuesday night in Baden while wearing an apparently prophetic T-shirt reading, “Really good at making really bad decisions.”

Baden police said the incident began when officers responded to a report of a shoplifter at a Sheetz gas station and the suspect, later identified as Emrick, refused to surrender when officers surrounded his pickup truck.

“He backed up, hit the gas hard, and a Harmony Township Police officer, who was backing us up at the time, kind of got caught in the window or by the mirror, and was thrown from the vehicle,” Baden Borough Police Chief David Christner told KDKA-TV.

The officer suffered only minor injuries from the incident, police said.

Emrick sped off in the truck and led police on a chase while allegedly throwing drug paraphernalia out the window of the vehicle.

The chase came to an end when Emrick crashed into a Baden resident’s backyard sheds.

Emrick, who was arrested on multiple charges including retail theft and aggravated assault, joins a not-so-proud tradition of criminal suspects wearing oddly appropriate T-shirts.
