March 2 (UPI) — A Pennsylvania woman who struggled with her weight for 16 years lost nearly 200 pounds in a single day when doctors removed a massive cyst from her body.

Mary Clancey, 71, of Schuylkill County said she tried for years to lose weight, but she just kept gaining until she reached 365 pounds.

“I was at the doctor’s and I said what do you think, what do I do about his pot belly? He said just watch your diet and take care,” Clancey told WFMZ-TV.

“I tried this that and whatever was on TV,” she told WNEP-TV. “I exercised and did all sorts of things, and I just kept getting rounder.”

Clancey sad she developed blood clots in her legs in November, leading doctors to discover the cause of her weight gain: a giant cyst on one of her ovaries.

“I was so shocked when they told me. The first thing I thought was Sigourney Weaver with the alien. I was so scared,” she said.

Doctors removed the 140-pound cyst, as well as 40 pounds of excess skin.

“That thing rolled out and I looked like an empty Easter egg,” Clancey said.

She said it was an odd feeling to suddenly lose 180 pounds.

“For four days after that surgery I can’t describe it. It felt like something was empty. My body didn’t feel right. I was so used to carrying that weight around that I felt totally different,” she said.

“I gained 10 pounds since I’m home. Hopefully, I’ll get curvy. I’ll be one hot babe eventually,” Clancey said.
