Polar bear tries to attack penguin backpack at Pittsburgh zoo

April 11 (UPI) — A polar bear at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium was filmed making an apparent attempt to attack a visitor’s penguin-shaped backpack.

Polar bears and penguins typically live on opposite sides of the globe, but the Pittsburgh polar bear apparently saw a golden opportunity to sample the taste of flightless bird when a zoo visitor held a penguin-shaped backpack up to an underwater glass wall.

The bear stared at the backpack for a moment before swimming down for a closer look.

The polar bear surprises the family by lunging toward the bag, succeeding only in hitting its face on the glass.
