VACAVILLE, Calif., June 6 (UPI) — Authorities in California said five suspects accused of stealing $4,700 worth of Red Bull from various stores failed to sprout wings for their unsuccessful getaway.

The Vacaville Police Department said in a Facebook post that witnesses reported seeing the quintet fleeing a grocery store with a cart-load of energy drinks they had failed to pay for and the group loaded their ill-gotten cans into the back of a rented U-Haul van.

A Vacaville officer spotted the van on Interstate 80 and conducted a traffic stop, the post said.

Five suspects, four men and a juvenile, were taken into custody and police discovered the U-Haul van was filled with Red Bull cans stolen from various grocery stores in the area. The cache of Red Bull was worth a total $4,700, police said.

The suspects were all Oakland residents, police said.

Ronnie Yarbrough, 30, was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, probation violation and driving with a suspended license.

Torn Saelee, 19, Jafar Neal, 29, and Jabari Neal, 29, were arrested on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property and conspiracy.

“Red Bull gives you wings…or in this case, a pair of shiny bracelets and some time in jail,” the police Facebook post said.
