Police round up escaped cattle at West Virginia shopping center

May 8 (UPI) — Visitors to a West Virginia shopping center were surprised to witness an unusual live rodeo put on by police chasing some runaway cattle.

Police said a family bought the cattle at an auction and stopped to get some food at the Merritt’s Creek Shopping Plaza on their way home Saturday afternoon.

The couple’s son accidentally released the cows and they went running around the parking lot outside of Target and other stores.

Shoppers captured photos of cows apparently enamored with the fashions on display at Dress Barn, as well as running around outside Target, CVS, and other shops.

Barboursville Police and workers with the Cabell Wayne Animal Shelter were able to round up the cattle before any of them sustained injuries or caused any property damage.
