LOS ANGELES, Calif., Jan. 12, 2106 (UPI) — Brooklyn-born actor David Margulies has died at the age of 78.
CNN confirmed his death Tuesday with the star’s agent, Harry Abrams. The cause was not immediately disclosed.
Margulies played the fictional mayor of New York City in 1984’s Ghostbusters and 1989’s Ghostbusters 2.
His other credits include the TV series The Sopranos, Law & Order, Northern Exposure and Touched by an Angel, as well as the films Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Brighton Beach Memoirs and A Most Violent Year.
Also an accomplished Broadway actor, Margulies appeared in the stage productions of The Iceman Cometh, Conversations With My Father, Angels in America: Perestroika and Wonderful Town.
