Jason Isaacs and Anne Heche Really Dig Their New TV Series

“Dig” is an American mystery/action-thriller limited television series that premiered on USA on March 5, 2015.

Gephardt Daily’s own Tony Toscano had the chance to sit down with the two stars of the show to see what behind the scenes information he could dig up.

“I started reading it and I was desperate to find out what happened next,” said Jason Isaacs, who is known for his roles “The Patriot” and “Black Hawk Down,” as well as playing the villainous Lucius Malfoy in the “Harry Potter” film series. “Most scripts I start I read in 12 segments, between going to the gym and taking my kids to school and anything else. It’s a fantastic story set across the world and about something real.”

Anne Heche, best known for “Six Days, Seven Nights, ” “Donnie Brasco” and “Cedar Rapids” has a lot of excitement for her “Dig” character, Lynn Monahan.

“She’s a legal attaché, she’s stationed in Israel,” said Heche “And she sacrifices herself for, you know, her country, really.”

Created by Gideon Raff (“Homeland”) and Tim Kring (“Heroes”), “Dig” stars Isaacs as FBI Agent Peter Connelly and Heche as Lynn Monahan, Peter’s boss and occasional lover. When Peter investigates the murder of a young American in Jerusalem, he uncovers an international conspiracy thousands of years in the making.

“At the heart of the adventure we get into, the thriller we get into, are real life elements” said Isaacs. “Although it is a big, fantastical, “Da Vinci Code” like thriller, it’s also true that most of the very dangerous elements and the people in it who are after bringing about the end of all of us exist in the world today, here in America and elsewhere.”

Isaacs refers to Jerusalem as “the most contested piece of real estate there’s ever been in the history of humanity.

“It’s an extraordinary place to be,” added Heche.
