SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – October 5, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Ballet West had its largest sales day in the company’s 52-year history when tickets for this season’s production of “The Nutcracker” became available to the public Thursday.

Thousands of tickets were purchased in the first day of sales, shattering previous sales totals. Ballet West’s “Nutcracker” is the longest-running production in the United States, and will celebrate its Diamond Anniversary this year as it turns 60.

“These numbers prove this holiday classic continues to be a very popular and cherished tradition for families in Utah and the surrounding region,” said executive director Scott Altman. “Last year, ‘Nutcracker’ was the highest-grossing in the company’s history, and it seems very possible that the Diamond Anniversary will shatter that record again.”

Tickets start at $20 and are still available at www.balletwest.org.
